7 Post-Launch Tasks for a Successful Ecommerce Process

Typically, there is no single individual or vendor that can reliably handle all items. The process requires a team with varied skills, who can collaborate effectively and stay disciplined with respect to the vision created by an organization’s leadership and sound ecommerce practices.

– Manage and update site search
– Assemble and review KPI’s/analytics:

4. Order Fulfillment

– Review order status across all
– Troubleshoot order issues
– Follow up on orders with drop ship vendors

– Shipping pricing or rules changes

5. Infrastructure

– Set up and run optimal infrastructure (server(s), security, load balancing, CDN, etc.) for staging and production environments that adheres to Magento best practice and maintains affordable flexibility for growth/changes.
– Set up monitoring to receive threshold and issue alerts
– Monitor and troubleshoot 3rd-party Integration
– Plan for and respond to peak traffic (both anticipated and unanticipated)
– Conduct ongoing, regular performance tests

6. Ecommerce Operations

– Assess effectiveness of existing features
– Review and identify new practices and technologies for enhancement
– Recommend and execute on marketing and promotional campaigns
– Conduct competitive research
– Deliver key insights and recommendations
– Conduct regular UI/UX Analysis
– Testing and review of existing site
– Assess usability across site
– Review product assortment and purchasing
– Conceive of and implement changes and new features

7. Project Management

– Research, budget and prioritize resources
– Estimate effort/cost of new requests and features
– Determine priorities and approve items for work
– Coordinate activities across the site
– Conduct weekly review/planning meetings
– Schedule resources and follow-up
– Daily communication on status
